If you read my last post, you probably already know my reasoning of switching to natural deodorant. While many studies are still ongoing, inconclusive, or have not occurred (that's a whole other topic), there is enough data evidencing why natural deodorant is a healthier and safer option.
Detox: If you are looking to make the switch or have already started, just know, there is going to be a period of "detox" before your body regulates itself and your natural healthy-bacteria returns. Your armpits are probably going to smell a little funky and you might feel like you are reapplying your deodorant 2-3 times a day. This can last anywhere from 2-4 weeks and rashes and itching have also occurred (if rash/itching occurs, be sure to check the ingredients of the natural deodorant you are using, especially the type of fragrance being used!) (Health Nutrition).
What's Next: After about a month of sticking to your natural deodorant, you should see an improvement and likely only need to apply your natural deodorant (depending on the kind) every 2-3 days.
Remember, natural deodorant is NOT an antiperspirant, so expect to sweat!
